Annapolis Boat Show: New Boats Premier

The United States Powerboat Show, known to most as the Annapolis Boat Show, may not be as grandiose as the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show or the Miami International Boat Show, but boat show goers who have been to them all often rank Annapolis at the top. The town is a pleasure to visit, the crowds aren’t oppressive, and most important of all there are boats. Lots and lots of boats. And although this may not be the biggest show in the world it does attract some new model debuts, including from major boatbuilders. If you can get to the Annapolis show in 2022, you’ll be among the first people to see these new introductions.

One of the largest boats being displayed at the Annapolis show is also one of the newest: the Dyna Yachts Dyna 63. This is a flybridge yacht available in either galley up or galley down layouts, with four private staterooms (or three plus crew’s quarters) and three heads. In either case the Dyna 63 delivers a massive amount of outdoor space between the extended flybridge, aft cockpit, and bow lounger. Other key features include a bar by the salon entrance, custom-built furnishings, a full-beam master amidships with an en-suite head, and standard CAT 1,000-hp diesel inboards.

Grady-White Adventure 218

It may be the smallest boat premiering at Annapolis, but you can bet that the Grady-White Adventure 218 will be making big headlines. This is the first small walkaround model to be introduced by Grady-White in years, and their previous models have enjoyed utterly epic popularity. The new Adventure 218 features a wider beam riding on the company’s Seav2 hull design, and perks not seen before on similar Grady-Whites of this size include integrated swim platforms and aft seat backs that pivot to open up additional space in the cockpit. Like other boats from this manufacturer the Adventure 218 is fishing-focused (features include rodracks in the cabin, four flush-mount cockpit rodholders, cockpit bolsters, 100- and 106-quart fishboxes, a raw water washdown, and a 25-gallon livewell is optional), with a nod to family comfort via plenty of seating and perks like a Bluetooth stereo system and a portable MSD in the cabin.

Sportsman Masters 267

Sportsman has had a Masters 267 for quite some time, then they introduced the Masters 247 OE. Now for the Annapolis show premier they’ve announced that a new version of the Masters 267 has been created to keep up with the times. Between the cushioned foredeck and twin double-wide flip-up seats integrated into the aft deck this model features gobs of seating, but what’s even better is their “Sandbar Mode.” The helm seats perched atop a huge tackle station can spin around and face aft, for when you’re socializing instead of casting.

Solar Sal 24

This model is so darn new that as we publish this piece, the boat hasn’t made it onto Boat Trader just yet. But stay tuned people, we’re sure it will happen. The Solar Sal 24 is a 100-percent electric boat, which is so capable that an earlier version (a 27-footer) completed the 1,400 mile Inside Passage journey from Bellingham, WA to Glacier Bay, AK. The 24 has a cruising speed of five knots and offers “infinite range” in direct sunlight, with 50 miles of charge held in the batteries. It has a 10-person capacity and an optional head.

Solara S-310 CW

The S-310 CW from Solara isn’t just a new boat, it’s a new boat with the newest in tech. Auto-leveling trim tabs, lithium LiFePO4 batteries, EVA decking, and integrated bow and stern cameras are just a few of the highlights you can find on this model. Even more interesting is this boat’s layout and design. The CW stands for Center Walkaround, and it’s essentially a combination of a center console boat and a walkaround cabin boat. It has a centered cuddy cabin, with a walkaround side-deck to starboard which leads to a bow cockpit boasting both forward and center-facing seating. Inside, the cabin features a V-berth, an enclosed head compartment, and a galley area.

Along with all these premiering models there will be hundreds of new boats on display at the Annapolis Boat Show. On top of that show-goers will see countless accessories, and enjoy fishing demos and seminars at the FishTalk Fishing Spot display. Sure, Fort Lauderdale and Miami get all the glory. But when it comes to which boat show is best as opposed to biggest, Annapolis is surely in the running. And if you pay it a visit you’ll see these new boats and more in the water here, before you see ‘em anywhere else.
